A soot filter (DPF) sits in the exhaust of a diesel car and catches soot. Normally it burns itself clean on longer drives; with lots of short trips that does not happen and it fills up. We first look at what the car reports: reading only the error codes is €50, a full computer diagnosis of engine and chassis is €100. We tell you which of the two is needed, and if we then do the repair, you pay nothing for that check. Only after that do we say whether cleaning (from €250) makes sense or the filter is worn out. You hear what it will be before the work starts.

Brought my car in for repair — everything was done quickly and without any hassle. They explained exactly what was wrong, showed me the problem and didn't push anything unnecessary.

Why does my soot filter get clogged?
Usually because of many short trips: the filter does not get hot enough to burn itself clean. A faulty sensor or an exhaust leak can also be the cause.
Can a clogged soot filter fail the APK?
The soot measurement is part of the APK for a diesel car, and with us it is included in the €70 price with no surcharge. If the car does not pass, you hear what each item costs.
