What do spark plugs actually do?
Spark plugs ignite the air–fuel mixture in the cylinders of a petrol engine. On every stroke they produce a spark that lights the mixture, so the engine runs. When the spark weakens or becomes irregular through wear, the engine runs less smoothly and uses more fuel.

Does my diesel car need spark plugs too?
